What is Invisalign?

Imagine wearing a gum shield that is streamlined and made to fit your mouth precisely. However, there’s no bulging, because the aligners that are worn for the Invisalign system are much more discreet than that. They are also transparent, so when they are worn they shouldn’t be seen by other people. The aligners apply a small amount of pressure to the teeth to gently move them into the targeted position over a period of time. Many patients see results in as little as 6 to 18 months. All you will be required to do is to change the aligners you wear on a weekly basis and you will be provided with 6 weeks’ worth of aligners each time you come to see us for your checkup.

Another benefit of having the aligners is that they may be removed when you are eating and drinking, and for up to 2 hours a day. You won’t need to change your diet, therefore, and you will be able to remove them when you have a special occasion or want to play sports. With this digital scan, we can also generate a 3D animation of how your teeth will look at the end of treatment.
